Oak Hills is a major city on Betaonline, and together with Paris makes up one of the most important areas on the server.

History

First Settlements

Dupe Wars

Oak Hills was the main battleground during the Dupe Wars, and was the city that was hit the hardest. The first dupe stashes was discovered here, at the Oak Hills Pier and inside the first Nomad Hut. The town was also targeted with griefs in April, with both Revert and 46mm targeting the city. Luckily, the server restored from backup after these incidents.

Paris' Secession

Paris' status was questioned by 44cckw in August 2022. While it had always been semi-formally part of Oak Hills under the name of Harbor department, it acted more as an independent entity, with residents wanting more autonomy. The question of wherever or not Paris was its own city had always been lingering, but had never been brought up properly until now. 44cckw discussed this with raddicted and Norbert, both of whom act as the unofficial mayors of the territory. Harbor department was disbanded on 28 August 2022, and Paris peacefully seceded from Oak Hills.

Rules

Oak Hills has a set of rules that citizens must follow in order to be allowed to live in the town.

Departments

Downtown

Downtown Department is the largest and most populous of Oak Hills' departments. It has acted as the city's cultural center, with many big events such as the Dupe Wars having taken place there.

Lake

Lake Department is the most rural of the departments. While it was officially formed in July 2022 by 44cckw, there had previously been built several structures on the territory, the most well known one being the Oak Hills Sign.

Hill

Hill Department is the youngest of the departments. Officially formed on 18 September 2022, it was previously inhabited by 46mm during his parole, and was the location of one of Revert's dupe stashes.

Harbor/Paris

Harbor Department, now known as Paris, was previously a district of Oak Hills. It was formed in mid-March 2022, and disbanded on 28 August 2022, after 44cckw allowed the niggas in Paris to fully secede.
