Revert is an old Betaonline player. A controversial figure, he was known on the server for being a troublemaker, often killing or griefing the server in one way or another. After duping iron blocks in April 2022, he would be banned from the server.

Norbert011 confirmed that the account X25, which had been playing on the server since 16 May 2022, was actually an alternative account of Revert. 44cckw would allow Revert to stay, similar to 46mm's parole in April 2022. Revert would make a complete return on 27 October 2022, and would begin to play on his main account again. This did not last long, however. Revert would be banned again on 12 November 2022 after duping for a second time. His "town" Dupelandia that he had created during this time, would be defaced and left to rot.

Revert, together with Norbert secretly used the account EvilPoopMan to invade and take over the server in December 2022, known as the Reign by the playerbase. Their short rule over the server was put to an end on 8 December 2022, after a massive revolt by his former interns and slaves toppled him from power. Revert would return and reveal this information a few days after this. Still being banned from duping in November, Revert was unbanned and pardoned for his crimes due to popular demand. During his third stay, he ditched both the mountain house and the ruins of Dupelandia, and created an entirely new settlement known as the U.R.E. in the far north of the world.

Revert would be enrolled in controversy throughout December. After kidnapping Wither Town's inhabitants, killing innocent players, and duping, he would be subsequently killed and his base ruined by angry players who sought revenge. Revert was banned on 30 December 2022. Revert attempted to join AdventureOnline, and frequently tried to rejoin the main server using alternate accounts in the first half of 2023, but this was stopped by 44cckw.

Revert would make his final return in June 2023. He took control of the EvilPoopMan during the June of Chaos, and participated in griefs against CalmCreeper360 and Lake City, together with Norbert and TriKhazan. All three of the perpetrators was banned on 20 June 2023, finally marking the end of Revert's time on the server.

History

Origins

Revert joined the server for the first time on 17 March 2022. At an unknown point, the Mountain House would be built by either AlphaPlayer5345 or Withermann for the price of a few diamonds. Revert ended up never paying for this. Revert also claimed to have built the Fencepost together with Alphaplayer, though this is disputed.

Although Revert did not break any of the server rules, he was known for being a troublemaker. His first act of griefing occurred in late March as he created a large lavacast that sat beside the Mountain House. Revert also began duping large amounts of iron blocks and furnaces in early April. Instead of hiding the dupes, like 46mm did during the Dupe War, he publicly announced it by building structures made out of his duped materials across Oak Hills. He was banned following this, which marks the end of the Dupe War.

With the Dupe War coming to an end and with the implementation of the whitelist, the first dark age had begun on the server. During this time, Norbert invited the user X25 to Betaonline, claiming he was a friend of his. However, without anyone's knowledge other than Norbert, X25 was in fact and alternative account of Revert.

X25 would join the server on 27 October 2022 after a long hiatus. It had become public knowledge earlier that month that Revert was X25, so when Revert pretended to be another user it went nowhere. He eventually revealed that he was in fact Revert. Similar to how 46mm was allowed back on the server, 44cckw decided to do the same with Revert. Revert joined the server again on his main account, and would begin to play normally again.

During his second stay on the server, Revert constructed Dupelandia after getting permission from 44cckw, on the condition that he was only allowed to use Dupe War remnants and not dupe additional blocks. Revert decided to ignore this, howver, and began to dupe additional blocks of lapis in November, placing them all across Oak Hills and Paris. This led to him being banned for the second time. Dupelandia was turned into "Dirtlandia" by 44cckw, using WorldEdit to change all the iron blocks into dirt blocks.

Second pardon

Revert returned to the server yet again on December 12, 2022, with an alternative account. He revealed to the server that he had controlled the EvilPoopMan during the Reign - not Norbert as previously thought. Revert acted charismatic and successfully gained the trust of online players at the time. He was subsequently pardoned for a second time due to the server populace demanding it.

Revert moved into the Mountain house again, though this did not last for long. He shortly put the house up for sale and stated that he planned to move some place else. The house was bought by Norbert for an undisclosed sum. Revert traveled far north, beyond Dankstadt and Wither Town, which made it harder for people to spy on him. He set up base and named the region the U.R.E., an abbreviation for the United Revert Emirates. Revert announced that he had big ambitions for the area, which included creating a massive 200x200 cube of cobblestone.

Pumpkinmen kidnapping

Withermann reported on December 13 that all the pumpkinmen living at Withertown had vanished. Norbert, who was acquainted with Revert, reported that Revert had kidnapped them and taken them to the U.R.E. where they were held as hostages. Withermann put out a bounty on Revert, saying that he would pay anyone who killed Revert and rescued the kidnapped pumpkinmen.

Revert would break into Paris Mansion on 16 December and barricade himself inside of a room. Norbert was unable to go directly into the room himself, but could see that Revert was doing something inside. It was highly suspected that the kidnapped pumpkinmen was held inside of this room. Norbert requested backup, and 44cckw would arrive at the scene. He would break open the barricaded room, but found nothing inside. However, the window leading to the room was broken, meaning that Revert had managed to escape together with the kidnapped pumpkinmen while Norbert and 44cckw were busy. Revert would retreat back to the U.R.E., while the hunt for the pumpkinmen went cold. Revert said that he hid the pumpkinmen at Frozen Town, but this turned out to be a red herring and a bluff.

False flag grief

Later, Revert would alert the server that his base underneath the U.R.E. had been griefed by an unknown player. 44cckw and CalmCreeper360 was teleported to the scene to investigate. In the large amounts of dirt and lava that was used to grief, sponge would be discovered. This made Revert suspect Norbert of being behind the grief, as he is one of the few players on the server with sponge on him. Norbert would join the server, but defended himself by saying that he gave away some of his sponge to friends, meaning that it couldn't be him. Revert demanded a backup to be reloaded, but 44cckw refused, due to Revert's base not being of importance and the fact that many players on the server would lose progress. 44cckw and Norbert would discuss the grief privately, and concluded that it was likely Revert himself who was behind the grief; a false flag operation. It is also possible that a player griefed Revert in retaliation of the kidnapping, but this is speculation.

Throughout the later stages of December 2022, Revert attempted to lure new players arriving from Betacraft to join him at the U.R.E., only for him to turn them into slaves and force them to mine and build structures for him. This was not a success.

At this point, the players of BetaOnline had enough of Revert's antics on the server. His usage of cheats was confirmed on December 29, after 44cckw discovered that Revert had used x-ray cheats to mine underneath the U.R.E.

While Revert was online at the U.R.E. on 30 December 2022, raddicted, 44cckw, Norbert011 and TriKhazan would visit the U.R.E. The visitors would make fun of Revert's base for being poor. After some time, fighting between Revert and the visiting players would occur. The fighting ended in defeat for Revert, who was heavily outnumbered and outgunned. Rad, TriKhazan, Norbert and 44cckw would begin to destroy the U.R.E. with dirt, cobblestone and lava. Revert's bed was destroyed, and TriKhazan would begin to create lavacasts all over the area. 44cckw had long suspected Revert of duping, and this suspicion was confirmed after he broke up his chest and found a stack of diamonds, which Norbert took as war loot. With the U.R.E. in shambles, Revert would trek far out into the world, to avoid persecution.

While the invading players were busy creating lavacasts and a TNT duper on the premises of the U.R.E., Revert ventured thousands of blocks into the world to avoid persecution. After setting up a temporary shelter in the wilderness, Revert warped back to spawn and griefed the entrance of the Paris Mansion. This was the final nail in the coffin for Revert, and he was banned from the server after this.

Legacy

The kidnapped Wither Town pumpkinmen, thought to be lost forever, was discovered by TriKhazan on 2 January 2023 at Revert's shelter far into the world. This earned TriKhazan massive respect on the server, and Withermann promised to raise a statue in TriKhazan's honor some time in the future, declaring him a "true hero to the pumpkinmen". The pumpkinmen returned to Wither Town after weeks of being held hostage.
