Paris is a major city. Previously a department under Oak Hills, it has rich history and was one of the server's major places of interest. It saw significant fighting during the Dupe War, and many well-known players such as raddicted, Norbert011 and Mope222 has lived in the town. Citizens of Paris are known as Niggas in Paris.

History

Early History

The Paris Hole and the Mac House is the oldest builds in Paris. They were both constructed by 44cckw before making the server public. However, 44cckw would eventually move out of what is today Paris in early March 2022, due to Mope222 constructing Mope222's House in the area. Norbert011 would set up base in the area, while FinsCon and 44cckw decided to found the city of Oak Hills on the other side of the water. The territory which encompassed what is today Paris, would be integrated into Oak Hills as Harbor Department in mid-late March. raddicted, who would later become an important part in the Paris' struggle for independence, would join the server on 13 March 2022.

On 25 March 2022, a diamond block would be stolen from the Mac House Church. The thief was never identified, since many players at the time had duped diamonds on them from the Dupe War. The thief was suspected to be Hola2.

Birch Hills

During late March 2022, birch trees would be planted all across Paris. This was supposed to be in contrast of Oak Hills; a yin and yang. The birch trees would be chopped down some time in late April-early May.

Parisian Nationalism Grows

The name Paris was first used for the region by raddicted on 1 April 2022. raddicted wanted to name this region of Oak Hills that. This would be solidified later that month, when raddicted began to refer to the area as Paris, instead of Oak Hills. This nationalism and new identity soon grew larger, and many more players on the server such as Tsar_Boris and Norbert would begin to follow. Builds in Paris would also expand during this period, and the region would experience a boost.

Secession of Paris

Due to the ever growing Parisian nationalism that started in April, 44cckw felt that he needed to do something. Paris had always been semi-formally part of Oak Hills under the Harbor Department, but the territory acted more as an independent entity. The pot had reached its melting point in August, and 44cckw needed to solve this issue fast, otherwise it could lead to a civil war. Fortunately, and agreement between Paris and Oak Hills was reached in August. The Harbor Department officially disbanded on 28 August 2022, and Paris peacefully seceded from Oak Hills.

Culture

Paris has developed distinct culture on Betaonline, which is one of the main reasons behind it's secession from Oak Hills.

Paris is known on Betaonline for it's technological advancement and engineering. The outskirts of Paris holds the Industrial Zone, which is home to many advanced redstone machines that produce the famous Paris Slabs, among other things. The Paris Sawmill cuts tree into smooth planks and has replaced the previous inefficient farm located in Oak Hills. AlphaPlayer5345's 2-Bit processor is also located in this area. Other than technology, Paris is known for the Paris Stew, which is made by raddicted using the finest organically grown mushrooms there is. This is a very sought-after food by non-residents of Paris. The hunger problem in Paris is virtually non-existent, as all Niggas in Paris can receive free bread from the massive bread storage located in central Paris.

Rules

While Paris has no set list of rules, Norbert and raddicted's word is law. Killing hens, the national animal of Paris, is strictly illegal. Doing so will lead to consequences.

Exile

It is possible to be banished from Paris for a multitude of reasons. One example of this is epikrika, who was banished from Paris in late October 2022. If you are banished from Paris, you are not allowed to enter Parisian territory. Doing so, will lead to death.
